Homework is a reinforcement of the concepts and skills that have been taught in school. Just as we expect students to try their best, and produce neat and quality work in school. we ask for your help to continue these important expectations at home. When helping your child complete his/her homework, please refer to the important resources that were passed out at the beginning of the school year (letter handwriting-proper handwriting strokes, letters and sounds, number writing, number chart, reading strategies, etc.)

Information about Homework:

1. Your child will be bringing home his/her Communication Tablet and Homework Folder DAILY. Please be sure to check and initial daily.

> The communication Tablet will have monthly calendars, important reminders/information, weekly homework charts, and a way for parents to communicate with the teacher and vice versa.

>The Homework Folder will also be sent home daily.

  • The LEFT side of the folder is to "Keep at Home"- this may include any finished work, or important flyers and notes.
  • The RIGHT side of the folder is will be "Return to School" - this will include homework assignments and important forms that need to be turned in as soon as possible. Please be sure to check daily and empty out as needed.

2. Homework will be given Monday - Thursday (schedule to change, due to holidays, events, etc.).

3. Weekly Homework Charts will be glued into your child's Communication Tablet on the first day of every week. At the beginning of fourth quarter, your child will write homework down independently. You may also check our homework schedule above.

4. Please make sure your child writes his/her name and date on all homework assignments.

Here are some Homework Tips:

Please have the following supplies available (at home) to complete homework:

> Set a scheduled time for homework.
> Work in an area with the least amount of distractions.
> Give your child assistance and encouragement, but do NOT complete the homework for him/her.
